As product design lead, I spearheaded both the
ideation and implementation phases of Bluescape’s
self-serve free trial solution.
Objective
Enhance conversions through the implementation of time-based free trials instead of traditional white glove solutions for consumers.
Approach
I began by investigating potential time-based trial flows and determining the most optimal times and places for upsell messaging to maximize effectiveness.
I created a timeline and user interaction flow to foster team collaboration and clarify the features and improvements that needed to be developed.
Results
Through the implementation of effective upsell visual cues and clear, guiding messages, we witnessed an 8% increase in our conversion rates.
The messaging was shaped by the Product Tone standards I created and implemented via close partnerships with Marketing, writers, and crucial stakeholders.
Optimization
To further improve conversion rates, I focused on optimizing the trial experience, making it more engaging, valuable, and user-friendly. To achieve this, I collaborated closely with researchers, product managers, and stakeholders to:
Gain deep user insights to identify conversion drivers.
Strategically introduce limits to popular features to increase conversions.
Use A/B testing to refine messaging, resonating with users and encouraging desired actions.
Enhance the UI’s visual appeal, making it clearer, prominent, and action-driven, thereby boosting clicks and conversions.
These optimizations led to an enhanced trial experience, resulting in higher conversion rates and delivering increased value to our users.
I also applied consistent messaging to the Dashboard to further increase visibility and opportunity for conversions.
